Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz is a German automaker that screams luxury and style, as well as performance driven. The company first began marketing their cars in 1901, however, the first car was not produced until 1926. The company is considered one of the oldest automakers in the world that is still being manufactured today. Interestingly, Mercedes-Benz started off with the frame of a stagecoach, and then added in a petrol engine to make it powered.

The company has produced many vehicles, all of which were accepted highly by the public. Even, the Mercedes CLS Brabus has been produced for a lot of police departments. Some of the most notable cars that were produced during the first few years of the company were the SSK racing car in 1928 which was considered very high performance compared to earlier models, however it still did not really compete with those other high performance race cars that were being produced, however, it held its own for the company. In the 1930s, Mercedes-Benz produced the W125 Recordwagen which was an experimental high speed vehicle that contained a V12 engine. The car did break a few records and is still considered one of their biggest accomplishments of the entire Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes-Benz did do work with McLaren Cars to produce a sports car in 2008. The car was a huge hit and contained a V8 engine that had turbo chargers. The car can reach speeds of around 200 miles per hour. However, due to the speed that car can reach, McLaren ceased production in 2009 because of the pedestrian laws in place.

Mercedes-Benz is also a part of the movement to produce more fuel efficient vehicles that are powered by electricity. In 2007, Mercedes-Benz had seven different hybrid cars. However, they also have the idea of developing a few small cars that utilize only batteries as power, which is something that the entire world is waiting for with the price of fuel increasing every day.

Safety wise, the Mercedes-Benz has been the company to introduce a few firsts to the European market. For example, their S-class vehicles were the first vehicles to put in front airbags. The Mercedes-Benz cars also utilize a crumple zone which helps protect the drivers and the passengers should the car be involved in an accident, which is something that not all other car manufacturers are putting in. One of the most unique features of the Mercedes-Benz is that if certain models are involved in a car crash that results in the car rolling, the computer in the car automatically unlocks the doors and lowers the windows in order for the person to get out safely, or for emergency responders to get the driver and passengers out of the vehicle safely. This technology could possibly save the life of a driver.

Mercedes-Benz has really never had any intensive financial problems, unlike other car manufacturers out there. Which means that people should expect to see the manufacturer around for many more years to come, as it is a brand that speaks volumes about those who purchase it.
