Jaguar

Jaguar is a British automaker that is under the Tata Motor Company. The company was originally founded in 1922, and at first they only produced motorcycle sidecars before they decided to venture into the passenger car market. In addition, the original name of Jaguar was Swallow Sidecar Company, however because of the initials of "SS" after the World War II this was viewed as undesirable, thus the change to the Jaguar.

When the company first released their early models the public automatically viewed the cars as classy, which was the intention of the design. The designers wanted the world to know that Jaguar was an expensive car because it was top of the line in every way, looks and performance. This reputation has stuck with the company throughout its history. When someone sees a Jaguar driving down the street now the first thought is that the person is important. The second thought is that they have a lot of money. However, Jaguar is not only wanting to show this. The company also puts a considerable amount of time into the performance of their vehicles, in fact they have had many engines that were considered top of the line for their time period.

For example, the incline 6 and the V12 engine were both considered historical engines of Jaguar. And they also had a huge effect on the automotive industry as a whole. Currently, engine wise Jaguar is only producing engines that are a V6 or V8 engine. The big V12 engine that was produced years ago was mainly in their racing performance cars. However, now considering the way that the economy is and the fuel prices as they are producing such a high powered car would be almost a complete waste as people are looking for more fuel efficient vehicles which means smaller engines.

Safety wise, the Jaguar uses the top of the line safety features in their cars. However, they are not widely known for their safety standards, simply because they are more concerned with luxury. But, all of their cars do have the most standard safety features including anti-lock brakes, airbags, anti theft systems and so on. The luxury items that are included in the Jaguar cars are out of this world. For example, heated leather seats, all leather interior, top of the line rims and tires, tinted windows, on board navigation systems as well as advanced audio systems. It is all of the luxuries that sell the car to potential consumers.

Jaguar has had a history in racing, however, this was a short history for the car maker. They did find success during the years that they were involved in racing. However, when the company was under the owners of Ford Motor Company, it was decided that the Jaguar would no longer race. The reason that the Ford company were having financial troubles and were trying to find ways in which to budget their money in order to keep from going bankrupt.
